Steve Madden Women's Troopa Ankle Boot

Steve Madden Women's Troopa Ankle Boot

I love shopping at Amazon just grand... I ordered these Wednesday night and I received them today Monday. But anyways, I pulled the boots out and was a little skeptical at first. Then I slipped them on and I was so surprised how comfortable they were! I ordered a half size up like people said and I'm happy I did. Otherwise my toes would have been crammed. I walked around the house with them on just b/c they are so nice and comfy! They are made really well too... The only complaint I have is there is no tread on the bottom. There is on the heel a bit but not on the front soles. I have other boots that were like this as well so I just got these grippy things that they sell at shoe stores. I also heard that non-skid tape works well. I may buy some tape and give it a try b/c the little shoe grippy things do not last long and have to be replaced after a short period of time.
But anyways, if you have been eyeing these boots... go for it you will not regret it! Just great!

Crocs Women's Crocband Winter Boot

Crocs Women's Crocband Winter Boot

I have wide feet. I have had Croc shoes before and they fit. This boot is tight around the arch. It is hard to get the foot in with a sock on. Once in, it is the right length and width, it is tight where the seam is, where the two fabrics meet, just across the arch. I am wearing without socks until it stretches, which I hope is soon. It is very light weight and comfortable. Fine for shoveling the driveway. There is plenty of wiggle room for the toes which is the secret to having warm feet. There is no arch support and no room to put in supports, so not suitable for long walks. The color looks true to what I expected. the inside is completely lined with smooth soft fabric. No plastic touches my foot. The top edge is elastic which keeps the snow out and has room to tuck the pant let in. Good practical design that everyone in snow country can appreciate.

Big Buddha Women's Wylan Ankle Boot

Big Buddha Women's Wylan Ankle Boot

Just purchased these boots at Shoe Freak on 8th Avenue on a trip to NYC. I have only worn them a couple of times but they are really great so far. True to size, very comfortable amd great for wearing with jeans, but could go with dressy pants as well. I bought the color smoke and they go with everything, but love the gold ones and may get a pair of those here soon.

BOOT UPDATE Feb 9, 2012 . . While I respect the people who wrote the negative reviews on these boots, I have to disagree. I do more than wear these boots for errands . . I go dancing in them at least once a week . . . when I say dancing I am talking about a fairly extreme aerobic workout that lasts at least 3 hours, with minimal to no breaks. I POUND these boots ( not country line dancing either ) into the floor and then some . . they move easily for dancing on wood flooring and keep my ankles and legs safe. The wierd thing is they don't even show any wear yet, which I can't believe, as I am very hard on my dancing boots and shoes, and these are now my favoite, so I wear them every week.
Today I am ordering a 2nd pair in gold. I have seen the boots in NYC and the colors are true. I can't wait to go back there, so am ordering the gold ones here; the price is competitive and the shipping is always free for me!
One thing to note: as they are not leather, they tend to stretch a bit on the top edge, so they are a tiny bit looser than when I bought them . . but NOT where your foot is: the base of the boots fit the same way, and not tight at all for me ( a medium width 6 1/2 womens size ). Of course you have to remember that I am extremely hard on them ( like a machine testing them out might be ), so for normal wear I doubt you would notice any stretching at all . . buy one pair and my guess you'll be back for more, if you are a boot person . . I plan to wear these year round :)

Dr. Martens Women's Triumph 1914 Boot

Dr. Martens Women's Triumph 1914 Boot

I am a Dr. Martens fan, and I have been wearing their products for about 15 years. I have worn their shoes, their classic mid-calf boots, and their sandals. A few things about this product:

1) For those of you who already own a pair of DM, the sizing of this boot is consistent with DM sizes. I usually wear 8.5/9.0, and my DM sizing is 6 UK/8 US. I bought a size 6 UK for these boots and they fit me perfectly.

2) DM boots are usually stiff at first, and will cause me to have a few blisters/sore heels until I've worn the pair for awhile. I did not have to go through this with these boots. The lining inside is a soft cotton-type material (almost like flannel), unlike the other boots that are simply lined with leather. This makes the boots extra comfy, extra soft, and it feels like they've been worn many times before... I will say that the brown and black/noir boots are stiffer than the simple black ones. I tried them in the store and I could feel a significant difference in the calf area.

3) Like another reviewer, I too have thicker calves and this concerned me at first, but the boots fit me just fine and are still comfortable.

4) I hesitated a loooooong time before choosing a color. I thought I would choose the brown, and then decided on the black. Some people commented that they look 'greyish'... they are not jet black like typical DM black boots, they are more like a very, very dark charcoal. I find it adds to the charm of the boots since it makes them look like they've aged gracefully with time.

5) Although I'm not on my feet all day long, I am a fan of DM because of how comfortable their shoes are and these boots are just that - very comfortable.

If you have been wanting a cool pair of DM boots but found the other styles too severe or grunge, this is the boot for you. They are feminine, comfortable, and unique!

From the Manufacturer

It all began near Munich, Germany in 1945 when Dr. Klaus Maertens injured his foot in a skiing accident in the Bavarian Alps. To make walking easier during the healing process, he designed a shoe with an air-cushioned sole. Using old rubber tires, he constructed soles that had air trapped within closed compartments. He showed his prototype to his engineer/inventor friend, Dr. Herbert Funck, and together they decided to develop and produce the shoes. Not only did the shoe solve the doctor's immediate problem, but it also started to sell well in Germany. By 1959 the two founders decided that they needed a company to produce and distribute the shoes, then called Dr. Maertens, in other parts of the world. At first, many manufacturers rejected the concept of an air cushioned sole as a short-lived gimmick. However, the R. Griggs Group, located in the village of Wollaston in England, decided to go along with the idea by creating the first work boot with the revolutionary sole. On the first of April 1960, the first cherry red eight-eyelet work boot was produced and named 1460 (1/4/60). To sell the brand name better in England, the name was anglicized to Dr. Martens. The range was branded AirWair and the rest is history.

Steve Madden Women's Banddit Boot

Steve Madden Women's Banddit Boot
These boots are fantastic! The leather is incredibly soft and supple, and I find the boot to be perfectly true to size. I wear an 8.5, bought an 8.5, and they fit perfectly out of the box, no breaking in required. I wore normal socks, nothing special or extra-thick. They are very floppy at the top. I did poke a few extra holes to cinch them a little tighter, but due to the nature of the boot design they still manage to flop open at the top. Somehow they still end up looking great, so it really doesn't bother me. Comfy, cute, beautiful color (I bought the brown), perfect fit, excellent materials. I have waited a long time for these to be available at a reasonable price
